During this week you will be familiarised with the debate on Conflict Prevention, Early Warning and Early Action. Many organisations and governments are interested in questions of: How can conflicts be prevented? What are the tools available? To what parties and organisations? This week aims to help participants identify conflict prevention opportunities in conflicts.

In addition to the debate on conflict prevention this weeks also focuses on root causes of conflict and other conflict contributing factors. We will also look at the role of 'conflict entrepreneurs'.

Assignments are focused on analysing the causes and avenues for resolution of a particular conflict of your own choice individually or in a group. A debate will be started on conflict prevention's many facettes.
