Reactions from former participants:

The online course has been given successfully four times since early 2001. More than 60 participants from more than 25 countries took part so far. They included staff from international development assistance organisations at both headquarter and field level, private sector advisors responsible for basic services and infrastructure development, international and local NGOs, trade unions, research insitutes and (PhD) students.
Please find below some reactions:

  • "The amount of information and knowledge of this course was impressive and I really enjoyed it! I think that everything went well. I missed the time to react at all questions and remarks from the participants and coaches."
    (Pienaru Adriana, water consultant, Romania)

  • "First of all I think it’s a very interesting course and I enjoyed the participation. Every relevant topic of PSP is discussed. Personally as discussed I wished more information about the implementation of a PSP process. The last assignment was the best and most interesting for me."
(Jürgen Bickel, German Technical Cooperation, Peru)

  • "The information contained in the course and linked websites was excellent and timely.
The content and structure were well organised, pace of information developed just right.
    (Simon Thuo, civil engineer, Kenya)

  • "The assignments were well coordinated with the course work and the issues discussed in the forum became an important source of new ideas and lesson sharing. The evaluations by the coaches (were) overall very helpful, indicating areas of weakness, suggesting further reading and providing links where possible."
(Nicholas Pilgrim, Water and Sanitation Program, World Bank)

  • "As a process of directed learning, via internet sources, both content and structure were excellent."
(Martin E. Parkes, agricultural engineer, China)

  • "The forum discussions (were) "very cordial and educative, enlightening especially to learn of the diverse ideas, portrayed a clear picture of the gaps between developed & developing worlds."
(James Sauramba, Technical Adviser for Windhoek based German Technical Cooperation)

  • "Although the real momentum was only reached in the second week, overall the content was very good." (The workings of the forum were) "absolutely perfect because participants were spontaneous and straightforward. (The amount of links to other publications) "was definitely one of the strong points and applies also to the information forwarded to the forum."
(Roland Werchota, German Technical Cooperation, Burkina Faso)

  • "The forum was perhaps the most rewarding thing! It gave me some really useful ideas and I could test my ideas on the other participants with different background and experiences!"
(Therése Magnusson, Ph.D. student at the department of Water and Environmental Studies, Linköping University, Sweden)
