THE NETWORK ECONOMY CLUSTER
Digital Strategies for the Networked Age:
Einstein understood that in order to innovate, sometimes you have to stick your neck out and try something new. The networked economy has placed new challenges on an organisation's ability to both innovate and to blur its traditional boundaries and structures.
Objective
The programme offers 10 different strategies that organisations are using to 'do things differently'. This course does not offer you a pre-packaged survival guide on 'how to succeed'. Rather, imagine that the course content is like a buffet of brain-food! You are invited to try some new tastes, explore different combinations and eventually to take with you the things that you can use directly in your work.
Who should attend this course?
The online course brings together an international group of corporate and independent practitioners, academics and government officials into collaborative learning networks to explore and share around innovative strategies that are being used to transform, drive and sustain the networked economy.
Programme themes
- What impact have new technologies had on the work environment and on people?
- What new skills are required in the networked economy?
- What are some of the best practices of organisations that have designed and implemented successful digital strategies?
- What is the purpose of communities? What business models are at the base of communities? What are the critical factors for successful communities?
- How is the Internet supporting virtual, cross-functional teams and enabling organisations to adapt to new business challenges?
Programme approach
Organisations are increasingly being confronted with the necessity to "try something new". Yet, what is at the base of these changes and what are the consequences for organisations? This course is not given by true-believers of the new economy, but rather accepts that a number of far-reaching changes have taken place that have turned some traditional economic thinking upside down. This course is designed to give the participant both practical and theoretical insights into some of these changes.
