Moderating Virtual Communities:
In this age speed is a central issue. Facilitating a (international) virtual environment for creating new and innovative ideas is essential to be able to stay in the market as a company. A virtual community (VC) can be a step towards a more vivid interactive business environment. Moreover, VC's offer the opportunity to involve experts in the development of a company.

Objective
During the programme diverse instruments are handed to the participants to make them familiar with starting a virtual community. In addition, some tools are offered to moderate these virtual communities and make them into a success.

The programme is made for knowledge workers and professionals, who want to start a virtual community within their own organisation and together with external relations and customers.

Programme themes

  • During the first meeting the participants bring in their own business case. These are elaborated in an intercompany setting during the programme.
  • The Do's and Don'ts as a facilitator of High Tech group processes will be discussed.
  • Different aspects of a virtual community are discussed and utilized in the exercises.
Programme approach
The course provides direct and flexible online support for the participants in their first efforts. The course is rooted in action learning. Coupled to the interactive sessions facilitated by experts, is the requirement that all participants immediately apply the new knowledge they have gained by actively participating in and moderating their own community. Furthermore participants are required to enter into a dynamic and critical exchange in which they share their experiences with their fellow participants.
